Hi my name is Lorna Brasill. Better-known as Cookie03 in Richard's clubhouse. I am from Bridgewater, Ma. I am so excited to say that I have reached my weightloss goal! I have lost a total of 70 pounds with Richard's plan.
I never really had a weight problem until my adult years. I was one of those people that could eat anything they wanted and never gain an ounce. That soon changed!
This is my second attempt with Richard's plan. The first time I did it was about 9 years ago. I was 31 years old and weighed 170 pounds. I smoked close to 3 packs of cigarettes a day and felt lousy. I figured I would try Richard's Deal-A-Meal. To my amazement I actually lost a total of 52 pounds. I was so thrilled with the results! I was 118 pounds! The last time I was 118 pounds I was 18 years old! This was the beginning of the new me. (Looking back now, I realize I was too thin.)
My next step was to quit smoking. I did it! I used the patch and was successful. But, needless to say, The weight started coming back on. I gained a total of 92 pounds back over time! Yuck! I don't know how much is to blame on quitting smoking or just using that as an excuse to go back to my old eating habits again. Now here I was 210 pounds but smoke-free. I watched the scale climb very quickly. It looked like it was not going to stop until I STOPPED IT!
I did not look good! I did not Feel good! My face was always broken out with allergies! My eyes were always red and swollen! I hated having my picture taken! I was always the one taking the pictures, never in them. It finally dawned on me that one day I could be gone and my poor little girl hardly had any pictures of her mother.
I hated special occasions because nothing looked good on this body. I knew some people who weighed more than I did, but didn't look as bad. They dressed up and they looked very nice. They carried themselves very well. I was not that kind of person. I had a horrible shape. You looked at me and you saw OVERWEIGHT- plain and simple.
I will be turning 40 years old in July and I decided I was going to do it in a very healthy way. I was going to start the second part of my life with a whole new attitude. I signed up to Richard's Clubhouse again and I said to myself, "Richard, we did it before and we can do it again!"
I am more thrilled today than I was 9 years ago. I not only reached my goal of 140 pounds, I am 6 years smoke-free! I am so much happier, I have more energy, my allergies aren't bothering me as much, overall I am so much healthier. I not only take the pictures now, I am in them! My little girl (who is now 11 years old) has lots of pictures of the two of us! Not that I plan on going anywhere for a very long time.
My reward for losing those nasty 70 pounds is Richard's Cruise To Lose to Alaska this year! You want to talk about a new me! I would have never done anything like this in the past. I want to go there and learn first hand how to keep this weight off ONCE AND FOR ALL! But, just as importantly, I want to thank Richard personally for caring so much and helping me get my life back. I thank you, Richard! My family thanks you, Richard! My little girl especially thanks you, Richard!
I would like to close by saying that reaching your weight goal is possible! As the old saying goes, if I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT! I just took my weightloss by 10 pound increments. I went from 210 pounds to 200 pounds. Then I went through all the 90's and all the 80's and all the 70's and so on. Until one day I looked down and saw I made it to 140 pounds. What a feeling! I know I will struggle with this. I know there are going to be some days that are harder than others. But, I also know I CAN do it! I also know I WILL do it!
You can do it too! Lorna J. Brasill Cookie03
